hi guys im looking at a 2003 c320 auto tomorow and wondered if anyone can give me any tips as what to look for, also rough mpg and what road tax group.

Hi,
I've had my 2001 C320 for about two years now and apart from normal servicing (just a Maf replacement), she has been trouble free.
Things to check for would be:
1. Fsh, main dealer or good independent.
2. Rust, anywhere from the wheel arches down, especially the rear.
3. Make sure all the electronic items, air con works.
I average 20 mpg around town, to 30+ on a decent run.
Road tax is £270.
If you get a good one you'll find it comfy, effortless cruiser or a fast, surefooted Q car, to match whatever mood you're in.
Regards,
Chalpkin.

Hi. Great choice of car. I had one - an ex-demo - for 3 years and 60k miles and loved every single one of them. Chalpkin's spot-on with what he's relayed to you including my experience of consumption. In addition if you take it on a dual carriageway it should be incredibly stable and track straight as an arrow - it was special in that respect even compared to 2 E500's I had that followed it. Also, I recommend buying as late a model as possible - they did a few face lifted C320's with the improved dash and build, as from my own experience and those of others I know rust and build was variable early on. Good luck and keep us informed to how things go.
