Hey everyone So after owning my C350 for 12 months she is now due a b service and want to take her to a MB specialist for obvious reasons. Any good recommendations near B69 post code, I do live near Andy Gayle but a bit concerned due to a few not favourably review I e read. One more thing it's done 58,000 so what besides this b service should I look at maybe changing plugs ? ? ?

Thanks for any help you can give me

Any takers ? No ?

Well seeing as my first question fell on death ears I'll ask another.

How much is a good price for a B service which I want to include air, fuel, oil and pollen filters I seem to be getting quotes like oh it's £230 but that doesn't include fuel air or pollen filters.....so basically an oil change then and what you call a major service what a load of s### !

And pls don't all speak at once !

Mercedes service is a little confusing as you rightly say your paying £230 odd pounds for oil and a filter plus the car is given a once over for any issues.

Your service manual should tell you what miles and time I.E every 2 years brake fluid , 4 years or 50k miles plugs. MB ESS system imo is ****e.

Do your homework before handing over your hard earned or use a good recommended indie there are plenty of recommendations on here depending what part of the country your in.

Good luck.

Re read your post if your going to a indie who doesn't know what should be done at what time I wouldn't bother!

Thanks for the reply

I called mb Wolverhampton and asked about the service plan and told them my car was due a B service according to the dashboard. They disagreed and said there system said it only needed an A service and if I did take the service plan they would only carry out an A service ! I really want a major service carried out and get all the filters changed as this is the first service my car is having after own her for 12 months now but surely £330+ for this without even talking about plugs and brake fluid is a bit steep ?

I had the same problem, I'm telling MB what my car needs! MB ESS was telling me I needed wiper blades and brake pads! How their system works is a joke, surely you would need to inspect the car for pads/wiper blades... For the record I had new discs and pads at the last ' minor service', 700 miles ago. I've given up on them I just follow the schedule in my owners manual and tell them what needs doing. Bizarre? Yes, MB main dealer prices are ball breaking.

so.....a local indie can do for me...

Full B service - which will include oil, fuel, air and pollen filters. oil change + give the car a once over and brake fluid change for the sum of £350.

deal or no deal ?

Compare it to what the dealer offers using the MyService page. Does the indie price include VAT - I like my VW indie but he always quotes ex-VAT.

Otherwise it seems good - I think the air (x2?) and fuel filter aren't exactly cheap.

How old is the car? It's odd that a dealer thinks it needs an A service especially as the car is asking for B.

Bit of a trek for you but you could try Jaymanek's place, Mercland in Nuneaton.

seems reasonable to me.

That is a good price.

The air filters are expensive so make sure they are using genuine as some of the cheap ones are crap.

Enter your car details here -

https://www.mymercedesservice.co.uk/home

This should inform you exactly what your car requires, then ring a couple of local mb dealers for quotes saying you are supplying your own oil which can be purchased at a good price from a mb dealer here -

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=121329168146&globalID=EBAY-GB

This should result in a significant saving, let us know.

If you use the main dealer you will benefit from mobilo -

the price does in vat definitely.

the parts are all oem, the guy was explaining the breakdown of the costs which he pointed out that they only put 5% on parts compared to others 10%+

air filters x 2 and pollen filters x 2 in that price also .

my car is 2010, yes 2 air filters and 2 pollen filters.

tried mercland and they're coming at 370 plus travelling there and back .

Whoever quoted you that is wrong? Our price is £289 and we include the Air, Fuel & Pollen filters at that price.

Maybe you asked for other additional work.
