C350 CDI Fuel Consumption

Picked up my new C350 CDI estate on 1st September and have to say I'm gobsmacked by the fuel economy. Did an over 400 mile round trip from Essex to Wiltshire at the weekend and got 47.9 mpg. That's seems un believable from a 3.0 V6 Deisel. Even when I've had my foot planted around the local lanes I'm getting mid 30's.

That's awesome mpg...but I bet she'll do even better when she's run-in in about 50k or so!

computers can be a little off, you actually getting ~600 miles to your tank then?

If you're gentle no reason why it cannot do above 45mpg. Mine can on the more thirsty heavier car. Some people are just naturally frugal.
