if its just pulsing with no noise Id be thinking warped discs....you need to check for run out.....even just jacking the wheel up and spinning them one at a time any measurable run out should be noticeable. Its low miles.....but I've seen new discs warp.
EDIT....Is it the car or the discs that are 4000 miles old?
Many thanks for your interest--It is 15 months old with 4k miles .
I have had it for 6 weeks. The pulsating seems to be evident when braking from speed ,not really noticeable at low speeds in traffic.
Given its low mileage I guess it might have been sitting around .
I will implement your suggestion with my local tyre place.
In my experience pulsing brakes is pad material deposits on the disc. Try a few high speed stops but don't come to a complete stop. I had to do this on my CLS after travelling around town for a few journeys. A quick blatt down the dual carriageway with heavy braking into the slip road cleared it up
Beware of getting any other garage to do any work on the vehicle without the knowledge and consent of the supplying dealer. They could use this as an excuse to not pay for any repairs.
Thank you ,
MB member ,ALFAitalia suggested the same ,but I must admit with only 4K miles I assumed unlikley.
My dealer has asked for a formal description and will then recover the car to investigate.
