as of this afternoon my car is not running right, when i rev the engine its holding back, soundsl like somethinfs blocked and this is also present when im driving, she wont got over 3.5-4000 revs, can any1 throw any light on this? also will an e55 air box go straight on? All help will be much appreciated....

MAF sensor broken/dirty. There is a 'how to clean your MAF sensor' thread here

- worth a try as new ones from the dealer are £250 ish.
If you want to be certain, the main dealer or anyone with the right kit can read the ECU and get a fault code.

Sounds like your air flow metre, I notice you live in London, buy a new one from Klasse cars in Fulham £90 and he will fit it while you wait.

The AMG cover for the E55 will fit but you will have to buy the pipes and clips as well.

Found my receipt.
Mass Air Flow Sensor, Part number MA113 094 00 48 for a C43. £238.93 plus VAT. from Merc (well it was in Feb this year!).
'm sure someone will post alternative parts supply, assuming that is the problem!

Sounds like it has gone into 'limp home' mode.

First thing to do is get the codes read by a Merc specialist with the modern equipment.

That should point you in the right direction, and go from there.
