As stated before, I am new to MB and auto boxes. So this might be very obvious, but please bear with me :o

1) When stationary, pressing the brake pedal and moving the gear lever from P through R to D, the car makes a little move each time (doesn't actually move, but you can feel it moving). Is this normal?

2) When gunning it from stationary, taking it to redline in 1st, it is sometimes hesitant to shift to 2nd and hits the rev limiter instead. Is my right foot made of lead or should this not happen?

Thanks!

1) - Yes - can sort of feel this sensation on mine if I move the shifter slowly. . . . but I go so quickly from P --> D that it's not really noticeable !!

2) - Sorry - the thought of gunning it from stationary in a C43 has got me too excited to reply . . . . and not qualified to comment on this model, but the same does not occur on my car.

1. Yes this is normal

2. Went out and tested mine just now :D , does the same, seems to delay before shifting to 2nd.....

Hope that helps

Just read something on another forum saying that hiting the limiter before moving to second isnt normal
Can another C43 owner let me know if I should be panicing

You can hit the Rev. limiter on most autoboxes, but in an unmodified road car there is usually little point. You are past the peak power and torque points so unless you are really flooring it the box will want to shift up a bit earlier. I also imagine the traction control will be working overtime.

The slight hesitation going from 1 to 2 at high revs may be connected with the engine managment and transmission system throttling back slightly to ensure that in the very brief time whilst the box shifts gears the engine does not over Rev. because your right foot still is clamped to the floor.
