I have a weird question?

w202 c43 redlines at 6500 rpms
w210 e55 redlines at 6000 rpms

all of ya who did an engine swap, did you guys drive your car to the speed stop limiter and max out the rpms?
did your E55 engine stop at 6000 rpms or did it rev to 6500?

after the engine swap at what rpm's does engine redline?

Though I have a CLK 55 engine in mine (not sure where the engine red lines on this model) the rev limiter is imposed by the Engine ECU/Map, as all 55 conversions have been with the C43 ECU/Map intially then until it is remapped the redline will be as the C43.

when doing the engine swap to 55 version, new engine will still follow the c43 ecu and redline at 6500 rpm's?
remapping is it a must to do or not?
will it give a lower gas consumption, proper shifting trans, all HP in place when everything is set properly?

remapping is it done at stealership with STAR?

Beemer M3's are high rpm cars and so are Mazda's with Wan-el engines.
old M3's cars had vanos problems, probably other things too.
Mazda's with Wa-kel engines must be repaired at a certain mileage
seems like old skool m113 engines are better and more bulletproof than many other tuned engines?

That's because they aren't tuned for power, they run in a low state of tune.

I have only just had mine remapped to tuned 55 state, so thats about 2.5 years, and approx. 15-20k miles on the 43 map.
Mine was,nt done on STAR, I had a Eurocharged remap and Jerry tuned it on the rolling road, mine had to have the ECU removed and was plugged into a laptop and another box of tricks to load the map, though the map could of been downloaded straight to the ECU via. the diagnostic port, but Jerry had,nt bought the correct lead as the US spec cars have a different/extra diag port whereas Euro spec cars only have the one.

hey andy
did you have your remap done in uk or did you have to send it to usa?

now that everything is set properly with your ecu, did you notice any improvements in fuel consumption or all HP comes in the right place when needed the most?

does all tuner shops have e55 data to correct remap ecu's?

I had mine done when Jerry came to the UK at SRR, there was a long thread running regarding this.
I had no running issues with the car before the remapp so hence why it took me so long to do anything about it, now its been remapped though it does seem to be more economical, and the revs seem to be 200rpm lower than what they were at certain speeds, the power delivery and the mid range torque has changed quite dramatically, and pulling out of junctions and on to roundabouts I had learn how to drive it again as the wheels were just spinning up and lighting the ESP light.

i guess you prefer your car now with the remap than before when running the c43 mapping. :thumb:

Oh yes most definetly :thumb:
