I changed my CPS before it broke as a precaution!
I don't wanna get stranded on the road with a possible accident because of a faulty sensor!

Diagnosis

Star test pointed out a CPS problem. Car will be fixed and ready for tomorrow. Looking forward on a little trip starting Wednesday over the mountains to Ticino (south and Italian speaking part of Switzerland) to stretch the 43's legs a bit, but with a sharp eye open for electronic eyes and nasty flashes

Crank sensor. Works when cold, degrades when hot. Same thing happened to both my C43's.

Talking of which I should get it changed on my E500. Same basic motor, no doubt the same component.

Final news

Well, after the change of the CPS, the car is purring again like a big cat. Just drove over the Alps to the south and italian speaking side of Switzerland. Very nice drive but the 40 tonners on the road are a real pain in the a**e as overtaking is sometimes impossible and dangerous despite the 306hp or so under the right foot. Crazy weather also these days, with rain and deep puddles everywhere
