C43 - Might need a new steering wheel?

Blimey....looks like a little clean up project. Now, I like the cleaning and polishing side of things and would happily spend a week making it shiny again.....I don't have the mechanical knowledge though

Hi,
Not a bad spec, Glass roof, Xenons, folding mirrors, and auto dimming RVM, but the fact its been sat on grass I would concerned what it looked like underneath, especially considering how facelift 202's can rust!

Will be interesting to see where it goes on price.
Some C43 have sold pretty cheap recently and I think this will need a £1200 spent on it to bring back? Maybe more.
However it is nice spec as mentioned and low miles.

I'm very keen to get myself a C43....the trouble is, I always fear that a cheap buy will turn into a can of endless worms, rather than spend £4000 - £5000 in the first place.

All cars are a gamble? just some more than others I guess!
This would make an interesting little project. Iam in a SL500 mood at the moment though.

What are your thoughts on the clutch issue?

There are lots of cases of bearings failing? If its showing on Star would it be bearings? Not sure what the clutch sensor detects.
I haven't had a clutch changed for years, and not owned one of these but its got to be £400 worth of repair I would assume?

Will keep the miles off it and nice to pull out and polish every now and again?

Money pit - I bet the interior is damp aswell looking at the frosty front window & cluster. I bet it smells rank also.

I wouldnt want to look under those sills at what horrors are hiding

Really good point - I imagine it does the electrics no good to be damp either ...

Fit only for breaking into parts.
A year outside in the grass...
At £1,000 already overpriced.

Computer says 'Clutch worn out' :D

Money pit , avoid.
