New to MB --just got a 2023 C43 AMG and find the ride very hard and wanted advice on changing to a softer tyre (I do not plan to do track etc) Can I increase the tyre profile.
Many thanks

First check if you have runflats. If so, get them changed to standard tyres. This will improve the ride. As the car has AMG suspension the C43 generally rides hard, especially with 19in rims.

Many thanks --tyre s are 20 inch, Michelin Pilot 4S --very harsh and as I thought a softer tyre might help--saw a you tube saying the Michelin Sport 4 would stop the crabbing also.

Yep...20in will most definately give you an uncomfortable ride over potholes and I really don't think with that size wheel you will benefit much from tyre type unless you have runflats on and switch away from them, and even then, the ride will be harsh. Mine are 19s, and even when I hit a pothole, I cringe. If I have to mount the kerb for some reason it feels like I don't have any tyres on the wheel !!!

I switched to the PS4 from the Contis when the tyres need replacing and they defnately feel more comfortable in the way of feel on the road plus reduce the crabbing.

Thank you so much for your advice. I was pleased to hear that you had actually experienced the Michelin PS 4 change .
I think the 20s exaggerate the crabbing and the ride is harsh with the 4S .I plan to follow your lead even though mine have only covered 3 k miles since new but the ride is spoiling my enjoyment.
Thank again

Assuming you have the 275/30R20 tyres on the back that means you only have 81mm of sidewall to play with....sorter tyres wont make that much difference on such a low profile.

Many thanks for your interest --mine are
Front 245 35 20
Rear 265 30 20

Does your original opinion stand?

Many thanks

Yep..... you might notice a little bit of improvement......but it won't ride like a 211 on 16s that's for sure.
