Hi All,

I'm contemplating selling my C63 W204.
It's not getting used as I has planned when purchasing in Feb 2021 - new MOT was added a couple of weeks back with approx. 1000 miles since the last.
I purchased when the prices were strong, is it worth selling now and what do the group think it could be worth?

2012, excellent condition, FSH, 12 months MOT ..

Thank you! :)

Pricing is difficult to gauge, best thing to do is look at Autotrader to get a feel. Whether to sell or not now really depends on how much you want to keep it and whether you’re happy to carry in spending on it.

It’s unlikely to appreciate in value quickly enough to offset running costs, and is likely to depreciate. Therefore if you think you’ll probably sell then the sooner you do it the better from a financial point of view.

If you enjoy owning it and driving it, and are happy to keep spending on it, then keep it and enjoy it. They’re wonderful cars which deserve to be driven. What’s stopped you driving it as you expected to?

Thanks for the reply @Bobby Dazzler

I do agree with your points.
I had every intention of keeping the car for a number of years and using it as a weekend car. The reality is it's parked up (sadly) and driven less due to work commitments.
My recent MOT reflected this. The examiner noted the car was solid and had zero defects at all but, had to put an advisory down due to the front discs having some 'pitting'.
He asked me if the car had been parked up for a period of time and he was correct. The disc's has surface 'corrosion' - once driven for 40 miles, they were like brand new again.
It needs to be driven and appreciated - it's an absolute joy of a car.

I wanted to advertise on the MB forums to see if another C63 nut would give it the home it deserves - but cannot due to 'newbie' status.
There is no worst case - as I do love the car & I'm happy to keep it but it needs miles to keep it working as it should.

Have you thought about joining a car club to give you more reasons to use it, or perhaps book a trip so you don't keep putting off using it?

Or could you just use it for stuff, lots of stuff, like nipping to the shop, collecting a takeaway, going out for dinner. Cars don’t like not being used.
