I have seen a few posts on this topic but forgive me if I have missed a thread on it.

I understand the facelift W205 C63 Coupe and Saloon/estate weigh around the same, have the same wheelbase, same power, and the substantive difference seems to be different rear suspension/track (wider track) in the coupe, along with standard 19/20 wheels in the coupe vs 18s or 19/ as standard in the saloon/estate.

Is there any noticeable driving difference between the two? The wider standard rear tyres would give better traction, but also I think more understeer.

Everything else being the same, the same car with tyres two notches wider (285 vs 265 at the rear) would feel less adjustable and fun, albeit with higher limits.

Larger diameter wheels would also usually mean poorer ride comfort.

Does anyone have experience of both? It’s a very esoteric point but I am intrigued. Thank you.

The coupe has a wider front track with 255 tyres up from 245. It's still a 3cm stagger rather than 2cm like saloon/estate but almost similar. From what I've read the coupe is appreciably different but all variants handle well.

Pretty sure the saloon (don't know about the estate) is lighter than the coupe...

If you can feel the difference then you’re a better driver than me! It really depends on personal preference, and then will only really be noticeable close to the limit.

Ultimately the Coupe would theoretically be marginally more capable but whether that makes it better to drive, then depending upon your preferences then it might or might not.

Thank you. There is a thread on a US forum, about pre-facelift C63S coupe and saloon, that says the coupe is faster accelerating because of a different final drive ratio; and deliberately louder in the exhaust.

Not too much info on handling although a couple of the users said the Coupé was sharper.

The final drive and exhaust noise would be a material difference if they applied here. But the US market may be different.

The C63 saloon I have as a courtesy car currently is on 18s and I enjoy its adjustability on exiting wet roundabouts, for example.

Iv driven both saloon and coupe the coupe does feel slightly more planted. But both handle well
