C63s steering wheel gets stuck

Hi all,

I picked up a c63s 2022 plate with 13k miles on the clock 2 days ago
I want to ask for some advice here incase there are quick fixes instead of having to hand my car in for investigation

I have a few issue

1. When attempting a U-turn with the wheel fully locked, after selecting reverse the steering wheel doesn’t turn anti-clockwise and is quite stiff. It only loosens up if I release the brake, and even then, at times the anti-clockwise movement is jittery. (Unable to attach video so uploaded video on YouTube)

2. The headlights seem to be developing a concerning amount of condensation. Not sure if this is common but I have it on both sides (picture attached)

3.The brake pads are making a loud squealing noise at low speeds.

I have a great relationship with after sales branch however if i can avoid giving my car in would be amazing

Thanks for all that support ❤️

Totally normal with these cars and nothing to worry about.

Again, normal and something I got used to quickly when I owned my C63S - you can change the pads if it bothers you, others will advise what to.

ah thanks brother -
any idea on the wheel turning when reversing?

Congratulations on your new car!

1. It sounds like there’s a fault with the steering. I’d make the vendor aware and ask that it’s investigated and repaired ASAP. For you own peace of mind confirm if in an email so that there’s a record of the issue and the remedy.

2. As suggested the headlights look quite normal. Headlights do tend to condensate on the inside, especially when there are swings in temperature and lots of moisture is in the air. You would therefore expect on frosty days but not hot days.

Headlights are usually ventilated to balance the temperature between inside and out - and release moisture that gets in - so it should clear up on it’s own. LED and Xenon lights don’t generate as much heat Halogen so it takes longer to burn off.

If the condensation becomes excessive, either filling with water or never reducing or clearing then it would be abnormal and would suggest a fault. If that happens get it investigated to prevent damage to the headlight.

3. It’s not uncommon for brake pads to squeal at low speeds, however the large majority of cars don’t so I would also raise this with the vendor. A new set of pads with plenty of copper slip on the backing plate usually fixes it.

If the trader says it’s a fast car, and the special brakes squeal, then remind them that there are lots of fast cars which don’t squeal. Older ceramic brakes especially are inherently noisy, but yours is a new car, and is unlikely to have ceramic brakes.
