Can anyone help me please. C63s W205 Coupe 2018…
Car is not starting at all. I’ve literally just changed the battery, hoping that might have been the problem having read things on forums over the last few days and seemed the sensible place to start. It was the original battery so I guess it was about time.

But it’s still not starting. I’m getting the following coming up on the cluster.

Inoperative See owners Manual ( amber )

Electronic rear axle differential lock inoperative ( white)

Active Lane keeping assist inoperative ( amber )

What could the problem be ? I’d be grateful for any assistance

I can't help with the fault, but just to say that if the car had a dealer service in the past 12 months, then you're covered automatically by Mobilo Roadside Assistance, who will dispatch a tech equipped with STAR diagnostic computer and he/she will either fix the problem or offer to recover the car to the dealer, but either way you'll have an initial diagnosis of the fault, for free.

BTW, while battery do die prematurely on occasion, 6 years isn't necessarily 'about time' - I sold my W203 when it was 11 years old, and my W204 when it was 9 years old, and in both cases the cars were sold with the original MB-branded Varta battery which was still going strong. And so I wouldn't assume that the original battery was faulty just because it was 6 years old.

The 204 battery is still fighting fit :)

For elimination of doubt.... was it not starting before you changed the battery. Or did it stop starting AFTER you changed the battery?

How often were you using the car before it "failed to proceed?" Daily? Weekly? Once a month?

Had anything odd happened before this all happened? Like the car going into 'limp" mode?
