I know I maybe being bit cheeky, but I was hoping someone could give me an honest valuation of my car. Im 3 weeks away from PX'ing it for a new car, but so far the valuations seem to me way low, but I may well just be hoping for too much. The part ex is...

C200CDI Classic
2005 05 Reg
62153 miles
Tax to 07/09 - MOT to 03/10
Iridium Silver
Black Cloth interior
FMBSH
COMAND
Phone Wiring
Ipod kit
Usual C200 options
Condition - about 12 stone chips on bonnet plus a 1/2" scratch on front bumber. Other wise, Mint. Interior - Mint all over.

Ive been given valuations based on a 2008 C320CDI Sport £30k. So far the best valuation ive had is £6800.

Can anyone give me their honest opinion as to what its worth.

Many Thanks
Mark

If it's manual with a cloth interior/classic trim etc you might not get the most favourable offers as it's possibly a harder car to move on - most MB purchasers want auto transmission and leather. The W204 has also hit the values of W203s quite hard in the last year or so.

Might help to explain a bit if you feel the price is on the low side.

You should aslo consider cheering the car up and making it look in mint condition. Any scratches will be 'sucking through teeth' time :D:devil:

Sorry, forgot to say its an auto. I guess I was just hoping for a bit more. The dealer I spoke with hasnt seen it, but when I asked what he woudl offer if everything was 100%, he said not much more because the mileage is the problem. But if thats whats its worth then thats fine, I just wanted a 2nd opinion. Thanks.

If you have a few weeks before your new car is available - and you have a firm "underwrite" from the dealer - stick it on AutoTrader at a fair price and see what happens - that is what we always advise customers to do - quite cheap for a two week posting.

I am sure the dealer would be happy if you walked in with no part exchange?

Glass price is £6800 but you will never get that for a car with no leather.. More like 6K.

Is £30k the asking price for his W204? If so I wonder what you could get it for with no p/x...Bottom line is cost to change not P/x price... yes I would therefore seperate the two deals....and put it on Autotrader for a few weeks...nothing much to lose
