Camand CD player

Hi, i have a Merc w211 2004 and wonder if anyone can help.

I had CD stuck in my single player, I managed to get retrieve the CD, but it won't load CD, checked all fuses they are ok, radio works ok, why won't CD load?

Appreciate if someone can solve.

I'm sure Richard will be along to tell you what could be wrong, does it play the radio etc or is the whole unit 'dead' ??

Is it possible that you may have damaged something retrieving the jammed disc. There's some delicate moving parts in there.

Sorry for the delay, I have been under the weather. The rest of my system works perfectly, apart from the CD not loading. Can I ask, if I add a CD changer and play a CD will it play from the changer and override the single CD?

You can play from the changer or from the single CD - if you managed to retrieve a CD from the COMAND, either something had broken so thats why the disk was stuck in and thus its still broken and wont load a disk, or you damaged something removing it. Just use the CDC instead !!

Thanks for your swift response. Would you know that if I bought a used Mercedes CDC from eBay, are they hard to install?

You need the CDC plus you need this kit which has wiring, fibre and connectors: CD Changer fitting kit for W211/W219 E/CLS Class

You'll need to be confident in taking out the COMAND system, and running wires to the fusebox at end of dashboard, a ground point, and a connector block in the passenger footwell and unclipping and connecting together the fibre optic parts.

If buying a used CDC, you should try and get one that is compatible with MP3 disks, I,e a later than about 2005.

Hey guys, I'm a newbie here.

I appreciate to welcome me to the group.

I'm trying to find some answers in this group to help me out to sort some issues in my car.

I have the W211 from 2003 and I can't fit any cd in my Command cd changer.

I press all the buttons to load a cd in the cd changer and nothing happens, I just listen the noise of the loading/ejecting system but nothing happens.
Seems like that the mechanism is struggling to to any action but nothing happens.

I open one of the covers from the cd changer to check if it was any cd stuck, but the inside is empty.

Is anyone facing a similar issue like this?
I bought another cd changer and the issue keeps the same.

I was trying to find out a topic related to this, but couldn't find it.

Any help, idea or suggestion is much appreciated.
