hi i just bought a e230 on a P reg, its an auto and the gears goin funny it sits in gear far too long then when changin it sticks in neutral for a sec or 2 then jumps into gear, got it checked guy says a selector module? got quoted £800 supplid and fitted????

OR does it do it all the time - hot as well.

It may be to old but I will be breaking a 300e-24 soon, see if you can find out? is it a 4 or 5 speed??

Try resetting the box - loads of threads on here - something like turn ignition on[don't start her] full gas for 2 seconds, then turn back to position 1 no ignition but electrics on and wait two mins - gearbox should be reset[check the procedure though]
