ok ive had my W202 for 5years now, its has ever let me down she been great but its time too put her under the knife ad take that 1800 engine out and drop sumthing like a s500 or sl55 engine in, turbo it, change the diff.
just wanted to find out if any one ever done this and if any one can give advice to what engine would fit in, i know i have to change mounts gearbox and brakes etc....:devil::devil:

just want to know wat 500 55 or 600 engine would fit in enuff to make it all work or if there any way to get a porshce engine in to the back?????

all help appreciated

Are you serious? Not sure if it will fit, but you could try a c55 engine and modify the engine bay. A new ecu, loom and certainly a new transmission.
have you got a c500 turbo? is that a merc?

wont fit unless you do some serious work to the engine bay!

It would be cheaper to buy a C36 or C43 than turn your C180 into a AMG wannabee. Bizarrely cheaper on the insurance as its a standard car, not modified, and resale value will be higher. You or whoever does the conversion would thank you for all the sleepless nights you'll have saved them.

yh im serious gna customise a turbo to fit a 500 engine get a stronger bigger diff from a sl or amg c55 get a fabricated propt shaft, thats wat i plan while thats gettn done have her pearled at the paint shop.

its not the bigger car, i want to keep her.
i got a porsche 993 twin turbo 4, a ducati 999s,honda civic type r and a nissan pulsar gti-r which im selling if any1s intrested
it wont be for speed it will be for being different.

nothing is impossible , if you have money:D

I Agree with above, anything IS possible if you have the time and Money,

Not quite sure what will you end up with paying if you start modyfying a C180. Everything will need upgrading, and unless your handy yourself labour will cost and awful lot.

Good luck if you try and keep us posted.

A C43 does seem the sensible option and if you want more start moding that. Yes its heavier but by the time you have all the upgraded parts on the C180 I'm not sure any weight difference would make much difference?

Insuring it may also be difficult due to 'any modifications sir...'

which you will need if you drop a bigger, heavier engine into it.....

im trying to get around that?!

yeh did have another account redgorilla but it wasnt working properly. labour will be free as my self and a friend will be doing the work, just parts will cost a arm and leg.
we've modded a couple of japs cars, modded 1 merc b4 so it have got sum experience, just wanted to find out if any1 else could help in wat will work and what wont?!:)

Nice to read a post where someone is enquiring about attempting such a major project.

I wish you lots of luck regarding this and if you do decide to go head then please please try to post photographs.

Good luck

hi nice idea i am not far from you ,love to give you a hand ,would be fun and learn something

Quite Interested in how this will turn out? I'm having trouble finding a low mileage engine for my C180! But I do have an old Vauxhall C20XE engine, loom, Superchipped ECU. Getting my hands on a Vauxhall Omega Gearbox would be easy. I'm considering fitting this to my car to be honest. My old Cavalier that the engine came out of used to eat IS200's on a good open road and completely confuse their 19 year old drivers, They just couldn't understand how a J reg Vauxhall could beat them? It was Dyno'd at 176BHP...

It's a relatively easy job to do.

Simply choose your engine and then drop it in, chopping out or moving anything that gets in the way until it sits inline with the drivetrain. Then add strength back to the shell. This last bit will need lots of experience as a mistake here will literally kill you in a relatively minor crash.

As for costs, anywhere between 1000 pounds and 100000 pounds.

Dave!

The bottom line with this kind of question is: if you have to ask you're not qualified to do it
