Car knocks

P0243 AND P0546 codes, what they means?

I think you have overfilled the engine with oil because you haven't drained it properly, this is not going to do the engine any good, lots more oil, means lots of pressure in the engine, I suggest you remove the sump plug, and drain the engine properly, then fill with the correct amount of oil -0.5 litres run the engine switch off and let it sit for 30 minutes on level ground, then check topup if needed. if you took 5 litres out you should not be put any more than that in, If the spec for your car is 9litres that is what should have come out.

I've just seen this thread. Faults suddenly appearing after maintenance are usually due to a mistake in the maintenance. If you took five litres of oil out and put nine litres of oil in, either there was far too little oil in the engine before, or there's far too much now.

The simplest explanation is that you made a mistake when sucking the oil out and the tube wasn't right down to the bottom of the sump, so there's far too much now. Don't start the engine; do what Jockcl500 has just suggested, then see if it's back to normal.

Well a weird one, photo says 0w 40 oil,I agree the can does not look right, but I think the best thing to do is drain the engine out via the drain plug and get some more oil,was just thinking is that the correct dip stick ? at this point I would check how much engine oil this car takes and then just measure the oil in that way at least you know it has the right amount ,think this has to be done before you can move on to any knocks that occur.

There is risk that the engine is goosed,
bearing in mind the cost of 8.5 litres of oil and filter I would prefer to remove doubts and clarify a few things prior to spending more dosh in hope of a miracle recovery.

What is the level of oil in the engine now, dipstick check on level ground.
What was put into the engine, oil container label should read 229.5(1) if it is the correct spec.
Confirm it's legit oil, confirmation that the supplier is legit would do me there.

Then consider the next step(s).

I really appreciate for the feedback on the issue.
