car model code

Help! I'm new to owning a MB. My car is a C240 estate avantgarde auto, most handbooks ask for model number. E.g. w202, etc. I've no idea what mine is! I think it's a w203 but would like it confirmed. Thanks.

If you look at the VIN (at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side) you'll see it starts with WDB203xxx

WDB* is Mercedes Benz's identifier, the next three numbers are the model type, and this is how the various models are referred to. xxx is often the engine variant.


* I think, but am by no means certain, that W indicates 'passenger car' and DB is Daimler-Benz.
