I have found a two inch or so badly worn part of the carpet by the foot rest in my 57 plate 7k mile E320.The fibres have just fallen off in my hand. Is this something the warranty would cover?

I didn't have this wear on my 80K C270. sorry for picture quality

Im sure I have read somthing about a recall or known problem about this on here before?

Cannot find it though

It seems unlikely that sufficient 'wear & tear' has taken place in <9months use - especially for high grade wool carpets . . . possible quality issue ??

I would like to think that the warranty on a car of that standard/price would sort it

good luck

Fully agree with that. It's a Mercedes - how long would a reasonable person expect a Mercedes carpet to last? Certainly a lot longer than 9mths/7K miles.

That's much more wear than I've got on my car which is coming up to three and a half years old. I agree with the others who've posted. This is a warranty problem.

Yep, I used to have an E class which was about 4 years old and I never had anything like that!

The dealer has agreed to swap the carpet after looking at it today. He said they will have to remove the centre console as the carpet runs from let to right across the front of the car in one peice.

Can anyone confirm this, as this seems to be a major strip down?

Thats correct

It's a very big job (much more than just the console) so make sure they do it right otherwise pieces will rattle and rattle

i have run the cables for my dension through the centre console to behind the comand should I take this out before I take it in?

Its not that big a job, 1hour max - just make sure you have a long long look at every part of it before you drive home again.

To take the front side carpet out of an E along with the console, seat and all that goes with it.

You couldn't complete the prep in a hour.
