Hi guys,

I've bought a cd changer for my w203 facelift wich is the MOST type. I'm having problems getting it to power up. I have the fitting kit from Comand online.

I've connected the wake up blue wire in the empty slot on the stereo and the earth to the earth wire on stereo and the red wire to the red/white on the stereo and the fibre optic cable is in too but no power!?

What am I doing wrong and also does it need to be programmed via star.

Thanx

If the connections are correct the changer could be faulty.

If you have the wiring kit from comand online for W203, one of the wires (the one with the fuseholder) should have gone to the fusebox at the end of the dashboard, and the brown wire to one of the ground points in either footwell.

Are you sure the blue/black wire is in the correct hole ?

And finally, if there was no fibre optic items there before, yes you will need the stereo programmed with Star to tell it to turn on its fibre optics - and the CDC won't do much without that.

Thanks guys I will check this tomorrow and I hope the changer isn't faulty!

Can I not connect the brown wire to the brown at the stereo?

You can do, but please solder it. The power *must* have the fuse on it. The wakeup should connect to the wakeup distributor but again you could solder that to the blue/black wakeup wire coming out of the back of the stereo.
