CDI Smoking Cured?

A picture of my car, (this WAS a huge improvement compared to how it used to be) before my visit to Ian B. Wright at 124Works and the addition of the Forte additive.

The car is now smoke-free. ;)
Its ok folks, I answer to Ian Wright too.

(lmao)

Not the first time then.

I posted with Ian B. Walker and then scrapped it because I hadn't concealed my number plate and reposted with...

Anyhow, there's no harm in it, Trigger and Dave seem to get along just fine... :D

Just a quick follow-up. I filled up last Wednesday and added the bottle of Forte diesel treatment at the same time. Today, around 1/4 of the tank has been used, the engine seems to be noticeably quieter at tickover and is smoking MUCH less when I floor the accelerator. I'm hoping that the smoking will just about disappear by the time I've used the rest of the tank.

No wonder you've got a Fire Bell.....

Perhaps if you regularly add Millers Diesel Power 4 Sport (as I do) you will complete the job. ;)

My car is smokeless.

If I could have bet on anyone spotting that, it would be you Dm. :D

There is something else in the frame that I maybe should have hidden...

Oh, the Fire Bell is there because I'm Hot...

I also have a red extinguisher.

Must say Millers does seem to make a difference on my car - Will give Forte a go.
Does anyone have a guide to removing and cleaning the EGR and inlet manifold ?
Is this considered DIY ?

Is it still recommended to give these cars a blast once a week?

I read that ideally you should open it up under load - like a long steepish hill. The trouble is that these cars fly up hills so effortlessly that you're doing a silly speed within a short space of time! OK, you can nudge it down a gear or two, but then there's no load to speak of.

The other day I needed to accellerate up a slip road which was in a cutting onto the M6 and looking back I'd absolutely filled it with smoke.

Silly speed? Mine only does about 145 given a decent straight, not even slightly silly.

Ringway - I was put off using Millers about 3 years ago, when I realised that it was making the car smoke more. Maybe it's time to give the latest formula a try?

Gordon, I double dosed mine with Millers for the first few tank fulls. Do this and then keep running with it and I'm sure you'll see an improvement. ;)
