You couldn't use the one from a E350 or a C220 for example, unless it happen to be a reprogrammable version (normally twin channel) which cost about £50 more new. Try inputting your car on here Diesel Tuning | Diesel Engine Tuning | TDI Tuning to see what to look for used.

I am having my E350 ECU remapped on the 15th of August it presently has a tuning box on it if it fits your car you can have it for a small fee it cost me £90 and is less than 6 months old it makes a difference but want to see what a proper remap does

What make is the tuning box and is it reprogrammable? If the OP isn't interested, I might be.
