I wish to replace the center caps for newer ones is there a way of removing the existing ones without removing the wheels. What size will I need to buy for a CLS500 2005.

I don't think so, unless you want to use a screwdriver and damage your wheels.

Yes you can - but you need to use a very fine screwdriver (or 3!) and be very careful. They clip in and are plastic, some eBay listings for centre caps have photos of the back so you can see what you're trying to release.

Or if your not worried about destroying them drill a hole through them and simply hook them out.....

Seeing as they're intended to stay on at high speed...

They are very easy to remove with the wheel off.

Your tyre bay will usually oblige for a few quid if you don't fancy jacking the car.

It only takes 5 minutes per wheel to remove and refit. If you haven't got a trolley jack - now's the time to get one :)

Far safer than screwdrivering off centre caps and damaging the wheels :o

drill the centre caps and put a screw in them and pull..
