Recently I was given 3 centre caps (part no A170 400 00 25) which have a black surround and not the usual blue surround. I went to the local dealer to get a 4th one but was told they are not available. Could some kind person check this information with their dealer please? Or, would anyone have 1 lurking about that they would be willing to sell? I suspect these caps came on early SLKs ; no doubt someone will be able to confirm this.

The part number would suggest they were from SLKs - are they three pointy star ones?

Try asking for part A170 400 01 25 with colour code 9040. List price £6.55+VAT. See item 100 and footnote 900 here. The '01' part is probably (no guarantees, mind!) a replacement for the '00' part that you have.
Thank you for your replies. I will go back to the dealer and try again. I see that the part no on the caps I have covers the more usual blue ones.
Pammy- the caps are smooth to the touch, there is the usual MB star,they have Mercedes Benz inscribed round the outside rim with a decoration between the M... and the B... with a black background.
I reckon they would look well on a black car.
