centre console shine?

i have the black avantgarde interior and the centre console no matter how many times its cleaned it allways shows up smears ,finger marks everywhere in sun light looks like its never been cleaned is there solution to stop this ?? tried a few different ones but is it just a bad colour?

Take a pic if you can and I will recommend a product
Off the top of my head I would clean it with a solution of water and a little washing up liquid on a soft sponge. Then rinse the sponge out and wipe off any traces of dirt or soap. This will remove all dirt and previous products.
Then I would apply some 303 Areospace protectant (search google)

Try cleaning it as EspC108 says but then polish it with a fine polish. That will remove any marks in the laquer coat.

I use panel wipe on mine, then polish it with Turtle Wax dash wipes.
Leave it for 5 mins, then buff with a microfibre cloth.

Just re-read your OP.
I take it you're on about the bit by the gear lever?
Either do the above, or I have used a small amount of car polish before. You just have to be careful not to get it down the gaps.
