Hey all

I've just replaced the wheel bearing on the front right of my 2014 W176. When I removed the old one I forgot to make a note of where the centrifugal seperator was positioned. It's a piece of plastic with ridges. I'll post an image to show what it looks like.

I have now pressed the new bearing into the knuckle and ready to press the hub back into the knuckle but for the life of me I can't remember where the centrifugal seperator was on the old one. I have a parts diagram but it's not clear where it goes. Does anyone know where it should be positioned please. I am 99% sure when I took it off it was on one side of the bearing but I can't remember which side. Should it go between the bearing and the hub before I press the hub back into the knuckle. Any help will be massively appreciated.

From that diagram surely it's the outside?
You would think so wouldn't you but it's not. The hole in the centre of the seperator is too big for that and would just fall off. I am sure it goes against the wheel bearing but I can't remember which side. I normally take photos of stuff as I dismantle it if I don't know where it goes but for some reason didn't with this.

Could be wrong as it’s a while since I did it but I think it clips on in the position shown. I had to get new ones as the retaining tabs had broken off.
