Hi folks,

Hope everyone is well.

Picked up the C43 from the detailers this afternoon. She"s been in for a stage 2 polish and the Ceramic Pro coating. Silver 5 year package. The wheel face and calipers were also coated.

It seems to have come up really well. It's not sunny up here today so I'm not getting the pop from the paintwork but the depth of the shine, slickness and the way the light is reflecting is really impressive.

👍 2 coats.

If you don't mind me asking. When did you have the A35 done, how many coats was recommended to you, and how's the car looking...any marring scratches appeared.

Apologies I lied.... Its CarPro - CQuartz UK 3.0.

My detailer just confirmed I have two layers plus be added a base coat.

He did mention that although Ceramic Pro make claims of 5 years but won't back up the people that apply it so you don't have a foot to stand on. He cancelled his link with them post a failed application.

Usually the longer multi year “guarantees” require an annual maintenance top-up service.

All the manufacturers probably make slight exaggerations about how long their products last. Who keeps a car for 5 years these days. Not many people I bet...Not me...wish I could 😀 For what I've read I think there's a lot to do with how it's applied in the first instance and also maintained with good products. It's always handy having a good guy to call on 👍

Get mine done more than monthly.💪🏾.... My detailer and I and our families are now good friends.... 👍

You do the annual maintenance monthly? Crikey, your coating will be an inch thick in no time!

So my detailer recommended I buy the following for the Ceramic Pro. Maintenance. Should be a doddle to keep clean and shiny now 👍

Q2M Bathe+
Q2M Foam
Q2M Wet Coat
Gyeon Silk Drying towel

That’s is some seriously impressive work , lovely car !

Appreciate your kind comment 👍 I wish I could lay claim to such a skill. The detailer has done a fantastic job. It looked lovely in the sun 🌞 today.

If you you want a top detailer use my chap/mate.....

He now has people from southern England transporting cars up to Scotland to get them done, he's that good....

My cars have Gyeon Mohs+ DuraFlex ceramic coatings and so they’re maintained with similar products. Currently deciding whether to stick with Gyeon in the next car or whether to try something new.

Thanks for the recommendation Lennox 👍 Your mans work looks top class. Your car looks lovely 😍My man does this in his time off from offshore. Worked with him for years. I get mates rates and a first class service from him....I think he would be offended if I went elsewhere 😃

Have you posted any pics so I can have a nosy 🤥 I do like a shiny car

👍 How you finding the durability. Any light scratches appearing...if you don't mind the question 👍 I had opti-coat pro on my WRX STI and I wasn't impressed. Almost put me off Ceramic Coating.

The car with the oldest coating is now more than 4 years old - although the coating is maintained annually to retain the 5 year “guarantee”- and my detailer has just suggested a light correction as the metallic fleck is starting to lose it’s crystal clarity. He said the coating is now also past it’s best and so we’re now discussing options.

It’s Obsidian black so it’s very very unforgiving, and it’s the car we use most - it’s our main family car which we use for anything and everything. With those things considered I’m please with how it’s performed.

It’s only ever been washed by my detailer, and so it’s only had safe washes. He does it every two weeks as part of a maintenance contract, and usually tops up with Gyeon Wet Coat or similar every second, third or fourth wash as required to maintain the finish.

The Gyeon sounds like a good product. It's lasted fairly well. You should only need a stage 1 and recoat this time? What other products have you been thinking about 🤔

The Obsidian does look lovely with the sun out 👍
