Change fob key housing

Hello,
wondering is it possible change key housing on w245?
i have ugly key 2nd generation key (1st image) and want to change to this (2nd gen)...possible?

I swapped one of mine for a newer looking case about a couple of years ago, with the help of eBay.

Just going out now, will look it up this evening.

Abs aka @clk320x had it done by someone in Peterborough, if I'm not mistaken, but it wasn't cheap - about £70 I think.

I also looked into semi-DIY option: a case with a PCB (433MHz, IIRC), plus required programming, but don't have any quotes.

If money is not an object, then getting a new key from Mercedes will take care of this: they only supply the new key shape now.

IIRC David it was less than that, but I can’t remember exactly!
More than happy to put members in contact with the chap, he was great.

P.S you can’t change to the key the OP has pictured. You can only change to the key as pictured below:

Also you will need to buy a new blade key for £30 from Mercedes. The key as above cost me around £60 (it’s quite rare) then on top of that the cost of the swap itself.

Looking back at it, it’s probably easier to buy a new key!

No the PCB ,s are different shape and size. A new key is about £150 . merc key £250

They also have this one which has the 3+1 (panic) button variety as shown in your first picture.

They are still asymmetrical, but have the chrome sided look. Mine is still working after 2 years.

mine is b class, 2 button key. can someone point me to checked person to do upgrade?

Yes but I notice you are in Croatia? I suppose you can do it by mail order though.

You need to buy a key like the one I pictured above, has to look exactly like that.
