There is a problem wiht this malaysia country,,,here dont have that kind of player,,in malaysia,,everybody are now converting to double din player....
where should i get it and how much its cost???
as the any wire modifications needed????
 
The mercupgrades guide is for the double din Comand NTG1 unit that would have been available as an option for your car.

If you want an aftermarket double din you can use whatever you want. You will need a fascia adapter and ISO loom.

Your other option is to go for the Comand NTG2.5 found in MY09> W211.

the problem is,i can't even find any fascia adapter for double din player here,,i oni can find for single din player,,,.

if i can get this ntg1 player,is there any wire to modified or straight plug old wan and fix new unit???

Just buy a "European" COMAND-APS NTG1 unit for W211. That will replace the head unit directly, play MP3 in the DVD drive. No configuration needed, just swop.

If you then want navigation, you add navigation drive in the boot and buy the very expensive map disk for Malaysia.

Changing what you have is very difficult as you have the Audio-20- CASSETTE. This has the amplifier (AGW) in the boot, so the speaker wires are all in the wrong place for any aftermarket unit.

so now the oni ting,i have to plug out my old unit and replace with COMAND-APS NTG 1,just swpo in,,,no need any modification,,,
.but if i wanna replace with COMAND NTG 2.5,is there any problem with it???

and how muct the navi drive will cost???

this is the head unit i find on ebay,,,isit it is ntg 1 or ntg2.5???
so if i wanna replace with my old unit,and other parts i have to use to install this product is???????
 
That is NTG1 head unit and NTG1 navigation drive - The head unit (screen) is a direct swop.

To install the navigation drive you need
a) wiring
b) fibre

Your car may or may not have the mounting brackets depending on what was installed. If you look at the left hand side boot carpet, if there is a flap about 2" x 6" then you need a bracket (2-parts) and a boot trim. If there is a big flap (6"x6") then you have the carpet and brackets already.

If your country has TMC (traffic re-routing) and you want it to work, then you need to change the single tuner/AGW in the trunk to a dual one.

And of course you need the appropriate navigation disk

Most of this is shown at Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits - if you look at the retrofit COMAND into W211 document, although you don't have to run the big fat loom or install AGW as you have NTG1 Cassette system.

Does the NTG1 still work with the single tuner AGW and the only benefit of the dual tuner is TMC?

About 99% sure the answer is Yes. I always change them because I'm in the UK and TMC is useful, but i'm pretty sure I recall a couple of people who have not bothered outside Europe.

SO now i plan to get comand ntg2.5.....i already request best price in ebay...isit i oni can fix the uk comand or can fix the japan made comand???,i see in ebay,there also japan made comand....

NO. For the Comand NTG2.5 you donot need a dual tuner AGW.

You need the Comand NTG2.5 unit (make sure you buy the e-class unit and not one for another model), GPS antenna, the wiring kit Richard linked to above. You will need someone with STAR to code the cluster for navigation instructions.

Retrofit guide for the NTG2.5 in W211: http://www.johnxhamilton.talktalk.net/Comand%20retrofit.htm For you it will be a little different as you have an AGW in the boot so you will be removing that and running a loom from the front to the boot.
