Changing run flats

Silly question, I’m looking to change the run flat tyres on my 2016 C207 to “normal” tyres in the hope of improving the ride. I looked at Blackcircles website and loads of tyres come up at quite reasonable (I thought) prices. My question is how do I tell if they are run flats or not? The description of the tyres doesn’t say. Thank you

The description should have “RF” to indicate

Black circles tyres are shown as runflats at the bottom of the chosen tyre |"advert block" quite clearly.

The runflat tyre marking will vary depending on the manufacturer, but majority of online stores will allow you to specify whether to include them or not in your search results. The description will certainly show this as well.

Some of the common codes are:

Continental - SSR
Bridgestone - RFT
Pirelli - RSC
Michelin - ZP (ZeroPressure)

You may also find that some tyres will carry Mercedes "approval" and this will be marked by:

MO - Mercedes Original (non-runflat)
MOE - Mercedes Original Extended Mobility (runflat)
MO1 - for AMG's

How much in ride comfort does it differ between RF and non-RF tires?
Is it bearable or unbearable to drive a car with RF tires?

The suspension on my car is very stiff and I like it very much.
Fitted with OE suspension arms, lowering springs and adjustable shocks.
If I also had put 4 RF tires would that be a total disaster on ride comfort?

Never drove a car with RF tires before so have no experience with this option.

can't see it making much difference, you've lost some comfort by lowering it etc can't be much more to lose imo

I have had run flats on my previous cars and only changes to "normal" tyres because of price. IMO a run flat is no more a harsher ride that traditional tyres. Yes, they have stiffer side walls for when you have a puncture, but when a conventional tyre is inflated to the correct pressure, the tyre walls are bloody stiff. If anything, I found run flats to be a better ride. The car was a B Class 17" wheels with sport suspension, so maybe the tyres didn't really matter
