Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy cheap iphone 3g/3gs. What's the best place to get one? Not interested in o2 contracts as I have much better tariff now with them!

Many thanks!

Cheers
Chris

To be honest, i'd be amazed if you find one 'cheap' anywhere. Like with all Apple products they seem to be the same price everywhere and don't really fall in value until Apple say so.

Guess this should be in the WANTED CLASSIFIEDS section...

Look on ebay or Gumtree and you may get a bargain (or not!)

I got my iPhone 3G as a free upgrade after the 18 month contract on my original iPhone 2G ran out - all I had to do was sign up for a further 18 months contract to get the 3G , this was after the 3GS had come out .

I have no doubt that in a further 18 months , there will be an even newer iPhone and at that point I will be able to extend my contract yet again and get another 'free' upgrade .

I could have had a 3GS by paying a lump sum as well as extending the contract , but since i only wanted to add the GPS feature , I saw no need .

Another tactic , if you have an existing contract with O2 , is to threaten to leave . A friend , who had been with them a while , did this recently because he had seen something else from another supplier ( can't remember what ) and one of the things they offered him to try to persuade him to stay was - a free iPhone ! He left anyway .

The Apple Specialist

watch out for this company, when I was looking for my iPhone, they were offering good prices for unlocked iPhones and they had a UK number and replied to emails. However further research on google tool me to Martin Money Savers pages that revealed that it was a scam company.

I got my handset from computer exchange in the end, after trading in my old Nokia and iPod cost me nothing.

Computer exchange CeX : we buy and sell Games, DVDs, PC Hardware & Software, Phones and electronics online have lots of iPhones in varying conditions from generation 1's up to 3gs.

Watch t-mobile orange are supposed to be getting supplies in October, original contract for exclusive supply with O2 ends soon.
