Bearing in mind I could only get 4 grand for a superb s430 long base 2000 with just over 60k miles, i see that as expensive!!!
Did the S280 have airmatic as standard? If not it could be a potentially much less costly than any other W220 to own I guess, with no potential for 4 figure suspension repair bills!

FMBSH - so really a case of checking when the last service/mot was done and any potential issues raised/logged at the time...
Still possible bargain for somebody - although the 280's is a bit underpowered and hence higher running costs than a larger engine.
