Cheap set of AMG's

Not particularly keen on those style of wheels, also there in desperate need of a refurb. Although if you get them at a good price only then would they be worth it.

Deffo suit the W202, better than style II IMO!

Very tempted, only up the road from me aswell...

Mark ,

The CLK 55 uses these very rims , i had / have a set on my old CLK cab , and they will be going on the new 430 when i pick it up.

Staggered too , but the tyre sizes he quotes are wrong ..... should be 225/45/17 on front and 245/40/17 on rear ..

Hope someone got them ....

Just remeber these wheels are prone to cracking at the back of the rims, the problem is only noticable during the refurb procedure.

Every set i've had of these have required welds in the past after refurb.

Nav,

You've worried me now , i have a set of these that i bought secondhand off Ebay and have had refurbished ......

They seem alright ....

Nav, thats a fantastic bit of information that most dont know about, and enough to out me off thanks without a proper inspection of the rims, thanks,

Those rims look horrible. The seller has left them wet to try to make them look nice.

It is possible this is a bargain, but it would be advisable to look at them before bidding unless you are prepared to loose all your money.

I doubt the seller will listen to anyone that claims they are cracked, damaged or previously kerbed.

Think before you blink  :D

Almost all AMGs with polished rims end up looking like that, and given that a couple of the tyres are ok they're pretty cheap.

On average every set of these wheels i have bought has had 1 wheel with a crack. Its not a safety issue, when the wheels are refurbished i make sure the wheel is inspected properly for any stress fractures as well. All that happens is the tyre will begin to loose air and the rim will develop a small noticable crack.

Its only this design of wheel that suffers, the Style 1s are fine.

I stopped buying this design of wheel as people get put off when purchasing wheels with a weld repair.

As far as the seller, he wouldn't be aware of any problem. The problem is only visible when you strip the paint off, you'll see the small fracture, which left will crack.

Nav , BJV refurb'd mine .... surely they'd have rung me if there was a crack ?

They wouldn't just spray over it surely ?

I know you have issues with BJV , but on the whole they did a pretty good job for me ...

I use them too, every now and then something slips through. But on the whole they are pretty consistant.

The rest are fine, just this one style is prone to cracking.

Monoblocs crack too on inside of rear rim - I did one on my last C43, the previous owner of this C43 had two rears replaced.
