i thinking about fitting chrome rings to my clocks on my w210 2002, i have the instrument cluster out of the car, i have taken the Dails away from the holder, how will i fit the chrome rings, i cant see how to remove the glass, any ideas please

damn, i have just put it back together, i will take some pictures next week, i was thinking about pushing the rings into the holes from the back with the glass in place.

There is a HOW To on this somewhere on one of the other forums. I will see if I can dig it up.

how do I add pictures so that they show up here? Flickr doesnt work?

justr clip in

some say use a bit of glue bit this can get messy - as long as its a snug fit you will be fine

so they are not self adhesive

The ones that i did on my old w124 had a black sticky rubber gasket on the insides of them.

Proper fiddley to seat and get to line up properly. Seperate the plastic from the dials like in your pictures and put through from behind , be careful not to get any fingermarks on the inside of the binnacle as you won't want to take it apart to clean it.

I'd never do it again.

There are also rings on the market made from real aluminum. Those ones you have to bend from the back side.
The result is stunning, just like the pic from N7OGP
