Chrome trim coming unstuck, how to stick back?

Hello. The chrome trim strip that runs across the boot on my car is beginning to come unstuck at the edges, see photo. Someone has obviously tried to put some double-sided tape on there, but it's not working. If I carefully lever this off, what's the best tape or glue to use to make sure it doesn't come unstuck again when I stick it back on? Thanks very much P

Ask at a local body shop. They will have the correct tape

They don't normally sell things like tape though. I don't want to pay someone to do it either because I need to save pennies for v power 😅
I imagine that they would either give you some free or at least tell you what to order.

A small drop of araldite behind it and a soft clamp for half an hour, or a 3in x 8 screw 😇

Could be my eyes, but your AMG badge is a bit wonky too, isn't it?
Anyway, 3M VHB tape, or generic car body trim tape

should do it, but as Pete says you may have to take the whole trim off to do it properly and it looks like it's probably quite easily damaged.
OK ordered 3m VHB, cheers 👍. Never noticed the badge... maybe optical illusion... or accident repair? I double checked under the bonnet and it's defo not a 320cdi :)

Have you checked how much a whole new trim piece would cost from MB ? Worth a try , they sometimes surprise (££ Both ways !) . A new piece will most likely come with the tape already attached. At least they did when I ordered B pillar covers from MB.

so take it off completely and start again rather than try and stick the offending cornier down?
thanks

Good call! New from MB it is £100. So not much more than used... just hope I don't **** up gluing it down.
