It been an extreamly busy few weeks one way or the other and shows no sign of slowing down so finding time to put aside for cleaning the car has been difficult.

This weekend i mananged to get up early (as always) and get set up, now this isn't a look how clean it is thread but a big old thank you to some of the brands that help keep and clean the car quickly especially in this cold weather.

Well i done the winter prep as per another post with just a machine polish and a healthy coating of fusso coat which has provided great proctection. I have been topping the coat up every two months not just for protection but for ease of cleaning.

Winter prepped ...

And well the time i invested in it has been well worth it, 4 weeks of not cleaning has held up quite well given the weather we have had.

I struggled to take a picture that would show the dirt and the wheel having more than a coat of simoniz.

To pre warn you this thread will not end with a nice look how clean it is picture as i had two car to clean plus the front garden to clear so the light had passed by the time i was done.

I brought some Bilt hamber snow foam which all though not as thick and foamy as the Auto finess i have been using it's cleaning ability was great and it allows you get around the car and back again before it runs out.

That being done i like to fill the snow foam gun with a bit of Shampoo and water just to keep the car nice and soapy as i go around with. I have been favoring Megs mirror bright shampoo lately thanks to a halfords sale coupled with a trade card i picked up a couple of bottles pretty cheaply and the stuff is just so thick and foamy that a little goes a long way. If anything i find getting it to dilute a bit difficult as it comes out in blobs so i have been making up a little clean bucket of concentrate if you like and adding it to the larger bucket.

Next up is Bilt Hamber korrosol fall out remover this apart from spray the car with foam is my favorite to use. It is just so satisfying to be left with gleaming wheel in five minutes.

You'll notice they are not my wheels but my missus Vauxhall for the reason that mine would show how bloody amazing this stuff is as they keep quite clean anyway. My missus however turn completly black after a week.

Just spray on let the stuff do it's magic for five minutes and jet off.

Look at that! Now ofcourse i have a seperate bucket and a selection of wheel brushes but with her the black dirt flicks everywhere so i always give them the above treatement before i attack with a brush. :)

And that folks is that it took an hour and a half to clean the outside of mine after cleaning the windows and topping up the Fusso coat with a thin layer. My missus took a couple of hours mainly because two of the boys wanted to help for some pocket money so we gave it a coat of wax as well which my beautiful missus thank me for later :) ........ with a takeway :P

Pointless thread? Well i often get asked if all the detailing and cleaning i do is worth it.

The answer is always yes because once you have put in the graft initially the car stays cleaner for longer, looks better, you use less product and cleaning takes almost no time at all. In every way for me it just makes owning and driving the car more of a pleasure.

Awww ok here's an old "look how shiny it is" pic :)

Looks good. I am a bit puzzled with rim cleaning. I think this is due to 3 different products I have seen used on my car. Mcguires makes them really shiny. H2O car valeting are not as shiny but look very good. MB Chelsea valeting looks like something in between

Bit hamber is great stuff isn’t , also agree on the Megs Mirror bright as wen I do use a polish that’s the one I grab :) since doing mine with the Zymol I find just a ph neutral wash and a top of with Megs wax is enough to keep it looking fresh. Your car looks lovely buddy always nice to see a well kept vehicle ;)

The fallout remover i use doesn't give them a shine as such as it's more for removing all the brake dust and so on. I love it though as it really good stuff compared to others i have used and a quick spray goes a long way. For sealing i just use Simoniz hard wax mainly because i have it but you can get a dedicated rim sealer, For me though it's another thing i'd love to try but don't need :)

Ahhh ok i had loads of it from a generous benifactor (my sister) who had some AG stuff cluttering up her garage:

but when it run out i switched to Meg's Mirror Bright Shampoo which is also PH Neutral i find it much thicker and foamier whichworks great when added to a snow foam gun to keep the bodywork as lubricated as possible when washing.

I'll keep an eye out for the wonder wheels Gaz if i ever see it cheap though i'm not a huge fan of aerosols as they tend to run out quickly where as i've been using the same tin of simoniz for over two years on the wheels.

That being said if my wheels has more spokes i'd probably be well stocked up lol.
