Just bought me a new mitt, new drying towel, some Ruby red wheel cleaner and some dimond bright ceramic glaze . Just need a suitable day to do some cleaning .
What the weather going to be like on Sunday 🙂

Don't you need to properly prepare the paintwork before applying the ceramic glaze? Wash, de-contaminate with tar remover and brake dust remover, re-wash, clay, re-wash, paint correct if needed than re-wash and polish and wax?o_Oo_O Welcome to the long and winding (and potentially expensive and time consuming) world of detailing!!

Just watched the Diamond bright video on their ceramic glaze. I do not think it is the same thing as the "ceramic glazes" that we are thinking of, in the video it just says
wash and rinse car
Chamois dry ????? Really?
spray on glaze
buff with micro fibre

Done

Really strange, let us know how you get on

The car was detailed last year, so I'm thinking its just a top up, am I wrong ? Please do tell, im new to diy cleaning 🙄

You don't need to clay or polish the car prior to application, if the car was coated last year with a sealant or coating then this will work as an LSP for it, kinda like a maintenance detail spray to top up your existing one

Give the car a good thorough detail, it won't hurt the existing coating or sealant if you use some fallout remover prior to application.

Have fun 👍

@Philc57 are you maidstone based buddy?

Blimey, how long does it take you to do all those stages? The detailing work you perfectionists do was spoken about at the meet at Maidstone services earlier!

Couple of reflection shots for you.....

When I got into this world many years ago I started on my Guards Red 1994 968 coupe, and transformed it to as new showroom finish - but doing a little at a time (as it's hard work, and being retired time was not a problem) it took me 2 weeks to do the entire car. The end result was fantastic, and even 3-4 years later when I sold the car it still looked superb, so the effort was worthwhile. I then did something pretty similar to the 968 Tahoe Blue cabriolet that replaced the coupe 10 years ago, with similar results, and about 8 years later she still looks really good (Used Porsche 968 Convertible 3.0 Cabriolet Tiptronic 2dr in Maldon,, Essex | Max Bradley Cars). Time has moved on, I'm no longer fit enough to play those games so have recently sold my DA to another 968 owner! Whta impressed me was that, after the initial effort of major detailing work, normal and easy washing and waxing quickly returned the cars to close to the finish they had straight after the main work, and that lasted for quite a few years, just wish I was fit enough to do the same to my SLK and S204, but will instead have to pay a pro to do it for me.

What did the detailer actually do for you last year?

A detailing with a ceramic coating
I seem to remember it wasn't a top level coating it was a midrange or level that was a bit cheaper but would last a couple of years

45 mins as quoted on this site by I can't remember who😊

Yup, about 45/60mins for a detailed wash, 2/3hrs for a full inside out, engine bay ,wheels off etc.
