Cleaning Artico

Artico vinyl

I did have a good time teasing tje salesman who insisted it wasnt plastic vinyl.. No i didnt like the idea of vinyl myself, ( sorry Artico) but after 6 years I have changed my mind as a quick wipe of the sahara beige its as good as new. A friends leather is cracking and shiny though they have done more mileage. So the idea i didnt like has been proved to last and still look good AND I've saved a poor cow or two lol

Artico is the new name for MB-Tex, which was introduced for Taxis and is very durable.

Which other manufacturer could charge more for vinyl seats??

Artico is the new version of MB-Tex, I don't think it is the same material. It certainly doesn't seem to be as durable, going by the number of complaints about seat bolsters splitting...

You're probably right. MB-Tex was thicker and reinforced with the same stuff used for Jordans bra's.

Mercedes' own advice is to clean with very dilute washing up liquid (100 to 1 or less). I have tried it and it works fine but don't know what the long term affect might be on the vinyl. I hope it should be ok if recommended by the manufacturer. :dk:
