After having my CLKs interior facelifted the old comand would no longer fit.

I decided to have an aftermarket unit fitted rather than a comand to save costs. A Kenwood unit was fitted which had good reviews etc.

The sound just doesn't match what the old comand from 2003 delivered which really was a shame...
I'm so close to changing to a newer style comand from a 2007 CLK. although does it have Bluetooth? iPhone connectiiety?
Anyone had a similar issue with an aftermarket Headunit? It sounds good at higher volumes just doesn't quite match the clarity at lower ones.

Cheers

In short; no. COMAND from a 2007 CLK does not have Bluetooth (unless you install the puck in the phone cradle... assuming you've got the wiring for it).

I've got a feeling it may also require changing the media bus to install it, but I could be wrong.

Right no worries. Cheers.

Would you say Comand's audio quality is bette than aftermarket? Or have I got an anomalous case here? Cheers

Comand probably adds more value to car aswell?

It's a catch-22. - COMAND gives more originality, but it (NTG2?) is getting a little old and clunky compared with modern offerings.

In theory everything should work with COMAND (dashboard display, steering wheel buttons, etc), which is something I'd prefer to keep. - If I was buying, I'd prefer to see COMAND... I don't know how many would agree with me.

I've never been in a CLK with a different stereo, but my Nissan has a Sony system installed (although the speakers are all Pioneer) and that sounds quite good. - It doesn't have Bluetooth, but it does have 1GB of internal memory for MP3s etc.

Not sure if your car can take COMAND NTG2.5, but if it does, then it's a great unit and has built-in Bluetooth which works very well.

They are not cheap though, they go for £400- £600 secondhand on eBay.

My car takes NTG2 and has an aux port built into the glove box which I was using with the old Comand 2.0 with great quality so feel like I should just go back to that setup.

I was thinking about a Bluetooth TO aux dongle however not sure of quality

Hi, I have a Comand NTG2 for sale and want £350 for it comes with a disc and a Comand handbook.

Have you added a power amp to your Kenwood, or are you just relying on the HU itself for amplification? I added an amp to my Chinese android unit...night and day.

Nothing adds value to a 2003 car...being realistic.

Renault12s, I havnt added an amp no, relying on the Kenwood alone

No amp no, what amp would you recommend and how hard/much do you reckon it'd cost for installation?

Cheers

Bluetooth to aux input works well. I can recommend Anker for around a tenner from Amazon. Great quality audio, and good quality telephone calls.
