Cd plays via radio unit but how do I play cd from cd changer in glove box?

press the "CDC" button on your radio control panel that wil take you to the cd changer and control it

Thanks for that info but there is no CDC button on my radio. My car is a 2003 facelift convertible and I don't have a manual. Only had it a month. The radio has a four way cross shape control each side with a on off and volume button in the centre of the left cross.. It has a cd button but that seems to control the disc player on the radio.... Help I'm confused

Ah right Soz dude :(. Usually on the stereos it says if it is an audio 10 or audio 20 etc and put that up on here and I'm sure someone will be able to help :)

Thanks again for your help... There is no markings on radio but it appears it is an audio 10 radio cd player. Would that mean I can't use the cd changer in the glove box..?

Found pictures of the radio for sale and fitted to other CLKs on EBay..

Grateful for any help with this....

Hi it's very similar I've taken a pic and looking for a way to put it on site.

The left cross has up down, left and right with separate buttons for next track and mute and sound....
The right cross has 123 and 4 on it .... RDS on the centre button...and buttons for AM FM and CD around it Thanks for your help. It looks exactly the same as your pic otherwise.

I'll send a pic when I find out how thanks again

If you go to "go advanced" you can post a pic by clicking on "manage attachments" no worries buddy :). the pic will be very useful. from what your saying it doesnt look likely that it can control your cd changer :S .... dont lose hop though. post the pic and we can go from there. im sure someone else wil comment too.. i stand to be corrected :)

The audio 10 was originally in mine but i already had a pioneer dvd system from a previous car to go in. mine was the tape deck up front not the audio10cd which is what you have.. however theyre both the same really.. On yours the CDC button is for the changer and the CD is for the front slot... the Changer is connected via a fibre cable (D2B) for best sound quality.. if the CDC button isnt picking the changer up you need to pull it out and check the cables or indeed if its connected at all!

happy to help further if you need any mate.

ps.. the audio 10 head unit pulls out with the mercedes flat extraction keys.. you can see on the PTY button a cut out for one of them to go... to give you an idea :)

Thanks for the help, I don't have a CDC button anywhere on the radio. Only buttons as described earlier....
Can't post a pic site won't let me. I'm new to MBClub UK.
It seems I won't be able to use the cd changer in the glove box , strange tho as I have viewed loads of CLKs like mine on eBay with the same systems.
Perhaps there is a way and someone out there may hold the secret.

Thanks again

Try pressing the CD button twice in quick succession. Should solve the problem.

oh right sorry I miss read I just saw the picture but now realise that's not yours lol. I agree with gp and np.

I tried pressing cd button twice in concession and holding in the cd button and nothing happens.
I can play CDs using the radio slot so it seems I'll have to upgrade to a different radio maybe to allow me to make use of the cd changer.
Any ideas on what radio to purchase and where to get one ?
Thanks for all your help

Have you pulled the head unit out to check if its actually connected?

they're single din in those. Could always upgrade to COMAND ;)

if its single DIN the instruction book says press CD twice. There is something wrong with yours. Its more likely to be the changer than the head unit but take it out to check the wiring first

Agree with gp. Like I said use the flat Merv stereo keys to pull out and check everything.
