CLK500 Gearbox advice

Driving home this evening I noticed the car stuck in a lower gear, may be 3rd.. I could not use the Tip function or switch it from W to S... I pulled over and turned the engine off. Restarted and all seems fine, changes all fine, kicks down etc... Do I have expensive gremlins to come??

Codes need to be read.. best to get them read soon.. could be nothing though..

Depends on the car/box and mileage but may just be low oil or oil and filter change required. Experienced similar problem and oil was low but still renewed oil and filter and now much better gear changes. My box is fully auto 722.6 not the Tiptronic though.

Same box, different selector and controller program.
