CLK55 AMG On Pistonheads

I reckon that would be about the right price without taking into the Cat C and the missing service book.

No offence.

Have you had much interest?

Might be worth taking out the bass box

Only advertised this Morning. I looked at other cars and they were at approx 7.5-8k so I think £1k less would be ok....

Do you think 6200? then

Weird, i thought i'd seen it advertised before.

You want it to stand out from the others and the only way to compensate for the Cat C is price.

I'd stick it up at £5995 no offers to attract attention as there are not many sub 6k

Good luck!

Being a Cat C. 110K miles, no service book? and the fact its a 5.5L may not help :)

Agree when you can some better pictures, can you not try and get the service book? have you both keys?

I'm guessing the Cat C will be the biggest off putter? any pictures before / during the repair?

Good luck with sale

You should explain what Cat C is and what it means, too; I have only the faintest idea and would probably not even consider this car unless there was some reassurance on the advert about what I'd have to do next.

Thanks guys, have modified price to £5,995 which is what I paid in November, I've paid for pixel fix and other things since then but hey ho....

I think if people are interested genuinely they will enquire as to the meaning of Cat C so i wouldnt elaborate on it in the ad. I would however get a new service book and get the MB dealers to stamp up the services that they have done as that will put off the majority of people interested as they will wonder why if its so easy to get a new service book have you not done it already......:thumb:

Not trying to be pedantic but it always makes me wonder why someone gets a nice performance car then wants to sell within a few months .

defo sort the service book out, take some higher res pics and take out all the crud (bass box etc), maybe a bit of re-wording on the ad to make it more structured and clearer , list the features to make them stand out. cant comment on the price without doing research on them.

In my opinion only the 'Bass Box' would put me off the car - If I was looking for an AMG I would be trying to find an example that had never been owned by a boy racer.

An AMG like this has obviously been very well looked after but it just plants that seed to maybe 'avoid' it and find another.

Sell the bass box seperatly and I think you would make more money anyway OR mention it to the owner once they have already come to see the car.

Only my opinion of course - I like decent music in a car! Let me know if you sell the box seperatly!

Bear in mind that these cars deprectiate at about £3K per year. If you've had it since November your price should be at least £750 less than you paid IMO and given that it's a Cat C (the kiss of death) I think you will be lucky to get more than £4K for it.

The bit about the warranty is a bit misleading, unless it's an MB warranty it won't cover everything, just the basics.

To get top money you need to get the service book sorted.....

I'm not defo going to to sell. Its just an option as the wife has bought a new car and I need to sell 'ONE' of my other 2. I've advertised both but really want to sell the Wifes old car which is a Renault Megane Cabriolet. I like my Merc and think it was a bargain at trhe money I paid. The CAT is irrelavant to me as I had my car written off because the bonnet got dented in a low speed incident so know that damage can and probably was minimal (Maybe a couple of panels / bumper changed etc).

There is absolutely no rust on mine which is pretty rare and it runs very well now I've started using Super Plus unleaded(Doesn't like standard unleaded I've discovered)

The only thing it needs is a full allignment which I will get done very soon whether it sells or not.
