I don't think the sensor would fail over a period of time. Either it works or it doesn't.
I'd run it over to Terry at Wayne Gates in Harrow and get it checked over before dong anything else.
He would be my "go to" to do the job anyway if I lived in London.

Update,
After jacking up the car and letting compressor filling it with the air, the car still holds the height after 12hours and a trip to super market for weekly shopping (just in case it pack up) This is getting on my nerves, is it possible the compressor need replacing as current one not strong enough to pump up the air bags?
Sorry I can't advise I'm having Airmatic visit workshop too in grey ! There are lots of things to check. I'm learning fast.. I had a Airmatic CLS for 4 years never once through a error on anything but the convenience battery.. luck of the draw I guess.
been in the garage today, the computer said that the valve that does release air from the suspension is not closing - meaning flat suspension and need to be pumping all the time.
So the block valve?
Nice that you have the problem sorted.
i've had the message once about a week ago, no sign of any drops, and then twice last night, so I have a new compressor on order.
Star/Airmatic isn't that great at self diagnosis. i've seen a broken level sensor arm give "rising time too long" codes, but it wouldn't even direct you to which airspring was the culprit, despite one corner being sky high, since it kept pumping air into one corner to lift it, which it couldn't see since the sensor arm had snapped
Yea, your codes seem quite specific which isn't too bad. I'm getting a general running time too long code. I can hear the compressor, the ride height seems OK and level, I've been noting down ride heights for a while to see if anything pops up out of the ordinary.
It's a little too noisy where I am to listen for any hissing, but I will have the use of a ramp and garage next week.
I've got 145k on my W211, so a new compressor isn't going to be the end of the world. There's an Arnott on the way to me now.
I've also just seen MB edinburgh listing a few new MB compressors on ebay for a touch over £300 with the new relay thrown in.
Tracking down the right relay part number is the next bit, I can't seem to find what page it is listed on in the parts catalogue.
