Hi,
As some of you are aware I was recently involved in an accident which saw the demise of my cherished and loved W202 C55.
I have now found a replacement for it a CLS 55 AMG, (will add some pics up of it when I can get it clean) which I bought on Friday.
I bought it with some issues (which I knew about and negotiated the relevant price reduction).
Any suggestions on potential solutions or where to start with fixing them will be appreciated,

1, Drivers seat wont move up/down or backwards/forwards, it will recline and the headrest adjusts up/down.

2, It has remote opening boot feature which works and closes on the button in the boot lid, but the interior boot release switch on the door opens the boot ok but when you come to close it from this switch it starts to close and goes 2-3 inches then stops and reopens fully.

3, The sunroof has one touch open/closing, opening works perfectly but closing it stops just short of being fully shut and then opens 2-3 inches and stops, I can then close it fully using the button but not fully so the auto function doesn't kick in.

4, The car has full command and the Harmon Kardon uprated stereo and speaker option (nav disk in the boot) APS System I think and was equipped with option 386 Convenience Telephony/Mobile Pre-Installation (MTUS), and has a connector in the arm rest (which has a specific phone cradle fitted to it at the moment). Can anyone tell me how I should pair it to my phone? as the Command sees it but won,t connect to it, I have tried pairing codes 0000, 1234 and 62872, am I doinf something wrong? or do I need to replace the cradle with a Viseo MB-4 unit or the like?

5, Both Vanity mirror lights are not working, not had a chance to look at this yet though I will check them first it does seem unlikely as both of them are not working.

Could someone tell me where the batteries x2 are? (feel quite dumb asking this :o) and where I could find the fuse boxes.
Many Thanks

Main system battery is in the boot under the floor between the spare wheel well and the back seats. The Auxiliary battery is in the engine bay underneath the pollen filter nearside.

The sunroof may need resetting, like one does with windows.

COMAND cannot connect directly with phones, you will need a Bluetooth puck in place of the cradle fitted. ViseeO-MB4 highly recommended.

Well after I posted this original thread, I went and took the car to the local Polish hand car wash, and tried the Sunroof and the boot and they are working correctly now, though I did try try resetting the sunroof as you said Peter several times with no effect. But earlier today one of my neighbours came round to look at the car I noticed in the cluster display I was getting a message regarding the sunroof even though it was closed it was saying it was open or words to that effect, I simply opened one touch, then closed it one touch and this time it was perfect.
The boot closing I think was due to operator I don't think I was holding the interior boot button out till it shut thinking all you did was to pull it and leave it. :o
The Bluetooth is really confusing me, Command actually searches for the phone finds it asks me to enter a code I enter the code I then enter code on phone, phone say it paired with Command, Command says it is connected to the phone for about ten seconds then the message at bottom of Command screen changes to not connected.
Also how do you remove the original phone cradle from the Arm rest?

Hi mate hope you are well.

Congrats on the new amg, did you not fancy another tidy c43?

COMAND has a Bluetooth headset facility, supposedly one can connect a Bluetooth ear piece for private conversations. It rarely works and it never works when paired directly with the phone.

Yes, remove the fitted cradle and replace it with the ViseeO MB4.

Welcome to the CLS55 club!

Just done best part of 1000 miles in the last week in mine, no issues at all :)

It broke my heart smashing up my 202 AMG, after all the money and time I spent making it just so, having owned it since 2007, and having 202's for the last 15 years I thought it was about time for a change.

Thank You Peter, will take your advice and buy a MB-4 Cheers

Cheers Karl, I just looked at the link to a thread of your car and its made me realise I have the side wing badges missing, as the previous owner had either debadged it or painted the original badges black.
I will start a similar thread regarding mine in a bit, though I am still undecided if its going to be a keeper or not, but if it has I do have a couple of mods/retro fits that I may investigate, though I think they maybe a little TO ambitious.

An 'accidental' thanks to you Andy. Never realised the boot release button closes it too!

Just went out and tried it on my E55K :bannana:

Cheers!

That was a result then, gld to of helped, even if it was "accidental" :thumb:

Boot lid close function - I found out on YouTube a few years ago haha... Silly how you have to hold the switch down to close.

Look at the picture on the button, it's has the down arrow as well.
