Hi, i hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction with this problem i have with my cls 55 amg.

When i park the car for a period of time the front of the car drops in height. I had the car tested by a local garage who diagnosed it as being a leaking rear airbag! I cant understand why a leak at the rear would cause the front to drop??? and the rear sits perfect.

I have noticed that the front seems more likely to drop after making a suspension adjustment from inside the car. However not always and seems an intermittent fault.

I took the car to mercedes for diagnosis but they cant find any leaks or faults with the car.

I am trying to understand how the 2 front struts are connected together, would i be correct in saying that they may both be connected through the distribution block that sits next to the airmatic pump?

Hope someone can help or advise as not even the dealers know whats wrong with the car.

Thanks

Yeah, i'd have a serious look at the valve block by the pump.

Accurate measurements before and after drop of every corner would be helpful to be certain whether the whole front or just 1 side is dropping. If 1 side drops very quickly, a lot of weight is shifted to the one good strut and that will settle lower than usual, almost giving the effect of both sides dropping.

thanks for the reply.

Its definatley both front corners dropping the same amount. Only seems to drop after the car is parked for a while. Is there any way to test the valve block itself or is it a case of replace and hope?

Try spraying soapy water on the valve body and look for any signs of air escaping .
