Good Day All,
New member, please be gentle!
I have a 320cdi CLS which I adore, however I have an issue with the reverse camera system.
Apologies if this has been asked before and if someone could point me in the right direction then that would great.
My W219 has the NTG2.5 system fitted with the green fakra connection.
I have installed the camera and it did work with the aftermarket head unit I bought (and returned).
The camera does not work with the NTG2.5 unit, so after some searching around I took the car to a specialist to unlock the menu setting to enable the function.
The specialist told me that then option was not available and greyed out.

Any way to resolve this?

I have seen a OBDII unit on Ebay which is supposed to recode the system but its expensive for one time use item.

Thanks
Mark

Apparently you need to go into the developer mode on Star to enable the camera on an NTG2.5 or buy the OBDII unit

The specialist did go into the developer mode, that was the option that was greyed out.
Will OBDII unit work if this option isnt available within the cars software?

If your car never had the camera option available, which it didn`t, then you will need to get the software installed onto your HU from a vehicle that did offer the NTG 2.5 with a camera , possibly an ML etc.

I did exactly the same thing and had to get different software installed on to my HU , Comandonline did it for me by return post.

To be honest for what it cost to get the camera installed and working correctly along with updating the sat nav i could have purchased an aftermarket android HU with more bells + whistles than the antiquated standard unit.

Thanks for the information, kind of what I expected.
Do you know if there is a android unit that is directly compatible with the car, ie, doesnt loose any of the wheel controls or the dashboard information.?

Mark.

Afraid not Mark , i did mine around six years ago and the aftermarket HU market has changed massively over that time.
