Ok so I decided to take the car into have the ceramic coating done yesterday. the job is going to take 3 days. This morning I received a Slight collision alert on the Mercedes Me app. I telephoned the detailers immediately to see what had happened. They assured me the vehicle was absolutely fine and even sent me a photo of the area that was being reported by the car. They said the car was being washed when I phoned.
My question is has this ever happened to any other members cars. I was thinking maybe the pressure washer had set off the alert or maybe the high winds that we are having today. Is there a way to check the sensors without going back to the dealers. thanks in advance.

It's definitely possible for a very slight contact to trigger this. As an example ... father in law has an empty plastic bottle hanging on a piece of string in his garage - when this touches the windscreen it's time to stop ;). That was enough to give the same alert on the Mercedes Me app for our car when my wife visited last month (I wonder if it might use the camera as well as parking sensors/radar/etc.?).

Had my dash cam hardwired by my local indy and when they fitted it i got collision alert, phoned them and apparently they go off all the time, they told me they had a Merc in being serviced and they also had an AMG gtr in and when they started it it set all the cars off with alarms and collision alerts before.

Yup! I have a 2021 GLC, I received the notification whilst car was parked in my garage, nothing had fallen on the car.

I would just add that we've never had a completely false report in the >2 years we've had our C Class. I mentioned the incident with the plastic bottle - the only other alert we've ever had was when my father in law thought there might be a loose wheel bolt and rocked the car while it was parked & locked. That's it.

My Blackvue dash cam reports a collision when
I drop the bonnet to close it.
