Fitted new wings on car, came from similar age car and same colour (Almidine red: Metallic) but top edge off wings is faded more than rest, which products / procedures would you recommend to try and restore colour

cheers

Red is the weakest colour in the paint range, you could try a light T cut, then wax, though it may look better at first it could go back to how it was.

Could try some rubbing compound too if its heavy fading followed by polish, although dont rub away too far though.

Polishing won't help as the lacquer coat doesn't affect what's underneath

There are two (minimum) shades of Almandine Red. You'll only be able to get a match by respraying the wings or by dodging in the wing tops with the bonnet colour to the swage line. Either way means paint

I have been wondering this for some time. My '91 cars paint code is 512M. Photos posted on the web often seem to be a much lighter shade of red. I put this down to underexposure. But now you have me wondering.

On dull days the red can more brown than on bright sunny days where it looks a much brighter red. How do you know which shade you have, and is there a lot of difference?
